How we find and rate discount codes
By the Purrfluence editorial team
Discount codes are scattered across Instagram captions and stories. We collect the ones cat owners share publicly, rate each by how likely it still works, and say plainly what we do not know.
Where the codes come from
We read posts that cat owners share publicly on Instagram and take out the discount codes in their captions, together with the brand they belong to and the discount when the post states it. Every code on a page links back to the post it was seen in. We do not buy lists of codes from other sites.
What likely, might still work and probably expired mean
Each code gets one of three ratings.
- Likely to work: shared recently, ideally by several creators, with no sign that it has ended.
- Might still work: shared a while ago or by one creator only, so we cannot tell if it is still valid.
- Probably expired: not seen for a long time, its stated end date has passed, or visitors report that it failed.
What the rating is based on
How recently the code was shared, by how many creators, whether the post states an end date, what visitors report with the buttons on each code, and whether the brand has confirmed the code. A confirmation from the brand counts the most.
What we have not tested
We do not try codes at checkout. A rating is an estimate from what people shared, not a promise. A code can be limited to a first order, a subscription or a minimum spend, and the brand can end it at any time.
If you are the brand
A brand can hide its page, confirm the codes that are real and mark codes as ended. Claim your page or write to meow@purrfluence.com. Confirmed codes carry a label that says so.
If you are a creator
Your handle is shown next to the codes you shared, with a link to your post. To stop that, or to share a code of your own, write to meow@purrfluence.com.
